I’ve lived most of my life in Montana (Hamilton, Stevi, Msla, Evaro and Miles City) but also in 6 other states, New Zealand and France. I did all my schooling here. I’ve had a richly varied life.
However, I’ve spent the last 45 years powerlifting, doing gymnastics, bodyweight exercises, hiking, hunting and biking to stay in shape. But at age 50, 9 years ago, I started CrossFit. It was then that I realized that “constantly varied, functional movements at high intensity” was the key to fitness. It was not a smooth or easy transition. We all acquire bad habits in the gym or at the table and mobility was what I was losing most. At 59 I’m a wee bit slower and weaker in only a few movements but my overall fitness including, cardio, mobility and strength have improved.
Come into the box sometime. We’ll introduce you to CrossFit. If you’re 30-something and want to lose 10lbs, or 40-something and want to lose 20lbs or 50-something and want to lose 30lbs. If you still lift with your back and not your legs. If you are not able to touch your toes. It only gets harder as you age. I’ve been there. You’ve heard misery loves company, at Corvallis Athletics CrossFit you’re in good company. As a trainer, I’ve never met a more friendly, fun and hardworking bunch.
